Mass Games for The Dear Leader

The 'Arirang' or 'mass games' are staged once a year to appease the Dear Leaders, who enjoy shows. 100,000 citizens perform beautifully in sync to various exhibitions.  This event commenced in 1946.  People train year round to share their amazing skills and dedicated training. The games are held at Pyongyang's May Day stadium.  "The theme of the Mass Games is called "Arirang." This incredible show of 100,000 performers retells the tale of North Korea's history." ~ Korea Consult

When people visit the DPRK, they are usually treated to the mass games, where the people of the nation showcase their talent and deep commitment to the Dear Leaders.

20,000 people make up the cards in the background that change, showing various imagery depicting their beloved ROK.  Every day after work or class people practice perfecting every step and movement.  The games last around a month and a half in the early fall.
